In this program, the children will review and learn the essential skills they will need in second grade. In reading, comprehension and fluency will be stressed as well as phonics and sight words. The children will practice and enjoy the success they will build. Spelling will be a major part of the written expression portion of the class. They will write and create sentences and learn simple punctuation for the sentences. Math will emphasize addition and subtraction including borrowing and carrying.
The class will be a four week class and will meet in August on Monday’s only for 1 hour from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Classes will be August 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd. The cost is $100.00 for the four day workshop.
- Math for Middle School Students
This class will review and teach fractions, decimals, percents and story problems. The students will practice and review the skills and concepts involved in fractions, decimals, percents and story problems. They will have time to create their own problems for others to do.
The program will be a three week workshop, Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Classes begin on July 12, 2010 thru July 30, 2010. The cost is $250.00 for this workshop.

In this class a student will learn how to organize their thoughts, study and take good notes when preparing for a test. It will also teach the student how to remain confident, calm and relaxed when taking a test.
The class will meet Saturday, May 15th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. and Saturday, June 26th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. The cost of each class is $100.00.
In this two day writing workshop, middle school students will discover how to build a portfolio, what components go into an effective portfolio, how to compose, respond to and evaluate their own and others writing. Students will learn how to produce different modes of writings, including classification, narrative, descriptive, comparison contrast, argumentative and persuasive writings. Students will select their best pieces to complete a model portfolio. This class meets Saturday, August 14th and Saturday, August 21 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. The cost is $50.00 per class.
